Cooperative Education Program
Cooperative Education is a trade-related work program designed to provide a
learning/work experience in which eligible seniors are placed in jobs durring shop week.
On alternate weeks the students will return to school for their
academic and related subjects.
Every effort will be made by the Cooperative Coordinator to assist
interested students in finding related employment.

The eligibility requirments for Co-op are the following:

1. A student must have the recommendation of the Shop Instructor,
the Cooperative Coordinator, his/her Guidance Conselor and the Director.

2. A student must be passing all subjects with at least a "C"
average in each academic subject and a "B" average in shop.
Grades must be maintained to remain in the Co-op program.

3. Students must meet all attenedance and tardiness rules.

A. Juniors interested in participating in Co-op during their senior year are allowed a maximum of 7 absences and 7 tardies during their junior year.

B. Seniors not eligible first quarter and wishing to participate in Co-op second quarter and beyond, are allowed a maximum of 2 absences and 2 tardies per quarter. Students on Co-op placement will be held to all attendance rules. All students on Co-op can jeopardized their eligbility if these rules are not followed.

4. Suspension renders a student ineligible to participate in
Co-op program on the allotted days of suspension.

5. Co-op placement must be directly related to the vocational program of study.

6. All paper work must be signed and completed prior to any cooperative employment.

7. The employer must be covered by Workman's Compensation
in order for the student to work for the company.

8. Students are required to provide their own transportation to the job.

9. A Student who is requesting to be placed on Co-op must have a resume and task list.

10. A student must notify the employer & the Co-op coordinator when he/she is absent.

11. If time cards are not given to the Co-op coordinator
by Tuesday of the academic week, you will have detention.


A Student's quarterly grade on Co-op will reflect a combined input of
the time cards, the employer's quaterly report, and the Cooperative
Coordinators visitations with employers.
