GRADE 9
UNITED STATES HISTORY I 2.5 CREDITS This course will offer a view of the political and intellectual origins of the American Revolution, Westward Expansion, and the formation of the American democracy as well as the social, political, industrial and religious changes from the 1770s to the 1870s. Students will also be exposed to the issues surrounding the American Civil War and Reconstruction. U.S.
GOVERNMENT 1.25 CREDITS This course will expose students to all levels of United States Government with specific attention given to the "Articles of Confederation and the "United States Constitution.
GRADE 10
UNITED STATES HISTORY II 2.5 CREDITS This course will provide students an overview of Americas economic development coupled with its international and political expansion, including Americas involvement in World War I, the Great Depression, and World War II.
GRADE 11
UNITED STATES HISTORY III 2.5 CREDITS This course is designed to address major social, political, and world problems that led to the onset of the Cold War. Students will be introduced to issues that contributed to the rise of communism, the Korean conflict, Cuban Missile Crisis, and the fall of the Soviet Union. A major focus will be the issues surrounding the Civil Rights Movement as well as other events facing America in the 21st Century.
GRADE 12
BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS 1.25 CREDITS This course is designed to expose students to the career-seeking process. Resume writing, cover letters, online communications and interviewing techniques will be among the topics introduced.
HIGH FINANCE 1.25 CREDITS This course is designed to alert, inform and educate students about sound money management skills and the financial planning process. Concepts explored will be economics, business, marketing, consumer/family studies, vocational education, and personal finance.
PROBLEMS OF DEMOCRACY 1.25 CREDITS This course is designed to address major political and governmental problems facing the United States as it moves into the 21st Century. Students will be introduced to their rights and duties as United States citizens.
